Meet the chef

Chef Darius Wu (Chinese name: 吳定祐) is the young head chef at SENS in Taipei. He first fell in love with cooking around age 12 and studied professionally at Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism. Before joining SENS, he cooked in respected local French kitchens like Atelier de Patrick, Orchid, and the Michelin-starred de nuit.

At just 26, Darius earned a Michelin star while leading de nuit, making him one of Taiwan’s youngest Michelin-starred chefs . In 2021, he was recruited to helm SENS and design menus inspired by classic French cuisine but rooted in Taiwanese ingredients and stories.

Darius believes sauces are the soul of French cooking. He experiments with local herbs, fruits, and unusual pairings. He’s well known for his precision and high standards, whether aligning plates or balancing flavours. and he blends creativity with emotion in each course.
